Lurking in Shadows & Mist Aug. 16th, 2007 @ 01:35 am
Okay, not really, but I am still around. SLAD is still up & running and I've been fortunate to have found more time lately than I have in the past year to work on it. I'm not on LJ as much, but I keep the account open for my friends. You can find me more frequently on MySpace now. If you know me & want to catch up, search for "ladydebonee" & friend me.

Well July was interesting, especially with those crazy fucking storms.

4 days without power
1 day without water
7 days without cable
Somewhere in between my uncle died unexpectedly down in Florida.
While, it started off with a bang, July went downhill at the end.

I am sincerely hoping August will continue to go much more smoothly. It's started off pretty good. I went to Card's game last night with an an old friend of mine and then we walked around downtown St. Louis afterwards before heading back home. I'd say that's a good sign. :)

Sick with stress, (okay it was actually the nasty potato salad item a co-worker made for a potluck Tuesday...who the hell puts corn in potato salad...I only took 2 bites, but honestly it was almost watery..gross) I took the day off. I hadn't planned on it, but while I was hanging out with a friend after work, I started getting oddly paler & felt a tiny tinge of nausea. My friend asked if I wanted to go home, but I hadn't seen him in a while and didn't want to cut out on him, especially after he asked me to come hang out & see his new puppy. I survived & even managed to try to eat a little Red Burrito from Hardee's until about 11:00 then decided it was time to go home where I could pass out or throw up in private. Fortunately neither happened & I flopped down to rest on the couch watching tv on and off until about 4am when I called in to the absent recording line at work. (It's nice to be able to leave a voice-mail & not have to explain to a real person that your calling in sick...that way no one can make you feel bad or beg you to try to come in.)

When I work up, I decided to call the law firm who has my Discover Card account & found I was able to setup a payment arrangement. I was extremely pleased to find they offered a payment arrangement for 18 months maximum, but I requested to setup a temp 6 month payment term so I could pay $200/month & then re-evaluate the balance to either extend it or do a payoff as I should have the life insurance cash value buildup before then. After that, I will have no debts other than my home & car loan (which gods help me have stayed current and a little ahead on the principle here & there).

WEEEE...this calls for a celebration! I am sooooooo going to...read a book tonight. Bleh, I still don't feel whole yet. This kinda sucks because before PS, I had planned to go to the movies tonight...damn you potato salad...damn you.
» I HATE STRESS!!
It's June 12th and the pool is only drained and still needs to be scrubbed and rinsed because my brother sat on his ass and did almost NOTHING to help this past week.

I got a letter informing me that my Discover card account has been sent to an attorney for collection because my last payment arrangment defaulted. The attorney is also going to sue me to obtain a judgement of payment.

I found out my mother has still not mailed off the forms to cash out the build up on the insurance policies to pay off the card balance like she promised to do so a month ago.

I had a very unsettling dream that I got freaky, wild, & did the nasty with a friend of mine who's happily married.

A co-worker who I can't stand made a LOUD & snotty insinuation that I liked to stare at her feet & her shoes when in truth, she was standing in an isle & I was sitting at my desk across the office when I had just caught the attention of another co-worker who was BEHIND HER LOUD, ANNOYING, GHETTO ASS that was blocking my friend from getting through. Fortunately, all I had to do was point & glare and tell her point blank that I don't care about her feet, but I do care about her dumbass blocking the door. She walked away in a huff, but not fast enough. I wish she would have tripped.

I've had a headache off an on for the past few days and I've easily teared up at the stupidest things.

GODS HELP ME, I NEED A FINANCIAL WINDFALL & A 4 WEEK BREAK!
» Are You Ready For the Summer?!
Yeah are you ready for the hot night....HOT nights...Sorry couldn't resist the Meatballs theme. It's finally stable/warm enough to drain, wash, rinse, & refill the in-ground pool & turn on the pumps. Yay for June! I spent the day pulling off the rest of the pool cover that hadn't fallen in over the winter & scooped out the junk that the dogs next door had knocked in. Among the items I found, were 2 tennis balls, a doritos bag, an empty milk jug, taco bell wrappers, & other misc plastic & paper items. YUCK! I also found a frog who had apparently moved in sometime in May and was enjoying the now swamp like environment or at least the abundant water bugs & mosquitoes that had started to take up residence. o.O Sorry bud, but this is my swamp..err pool. (He was scooped out & relocated to a grassy corner of the backyard.) HEHEHE. I was going to start on this yesterday, but I was called to help setup office equipment for some friends so I got a late weekend start. Which means my brother shall have the privilege of draining the pool Thursday & starting on the cleansing rituals. MUAHAHAHA At least it won't be as bad as the first year we opened the pool. That was a royal pain in the ass & back (see older posts). Hopefully, if all goes well, we'll be able to start refilling by Saturday & swimming by Sunday. WEE!

» Cesar Millan Take Me Away!
Better idea, take my neighbor's dogs away ..or just take their owners away and give them new ones. I have a lady with 2 sons & 3 dogs living (renting) next door to me & I have absolutely had it with my neighbors because of their lack of responsible pet ownership. Their dogs are aggressive, destructive, & annoying and on their way to being a danger to themselves & others.

They dug out from under my fence so I've had to line my privacy fence at the base with blocks so they can't crawl through. They broke a board at the back & their owner nailed a piece of cheap plywood over it. Today I come home & found out the one black pup of the litter somehow got in the yard and into our pool & couldn't figure how to get out (it's a walk in pool...duh..walk out!) It didn't drown because my elderly mom called animal control came out & they rescued it.

What really made me mad though was that the youngest punkass teenage son of the lady who owns the dogs went off on my mom for calling them. My mom was like, what did you want me to do, let it drown? I have my garbage bags torn up, my dogs attacked, & my brother bit. My other neighbors have also had complaints. All the while we've worked it out with her to avoid problems, but this..this was the last straw. I asked my sister to call their landlord because thankfully she knows them & is fed up as well.

They either get those dogs under control, or they'll be gone and by gone I mean, the lady, her kids & the dogs...I'll have the whole lot of them evicted.
